Terms of Use

Last updated — July 2026

1. The service

Dictro is a macOS application that provides dictation: speech-to-text transcription and text refinement, running on-device by default, with an optional cloud-powered Fast Mode. By downloading or using Dictro you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts and plans

3. Payments, cancellation, and refunds

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Dictro to break the law, infringe others' rights, or attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or its bundled models outside their respective licenses. Don't abuse, probe, or attempt to circumvent plan limits or the services behind Fast Mode.

5. Intellectual property

Dictro, its design, and its branding belong to us. Everything you dictate belongs to you — we claim no rights over it.

6. Availability

On-device Mode works offline and does not depend on our servers. Cloud-backed features such as Fast Mode depend on third-party providers and may occasionally be slow or unavailable; we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability of cloud features.

7. Warranty and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dictro is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

8. Termination

You can stop using Dictro and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; if we do, no refund is owed for any remaining subscription period except where required by law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
